From Ground to Gritstone is a three-day outdoor introduction to rock climbing set in the Peak District National Park. Designed for beginners, the course focuses on building solid foundations in a safe, supportive environment. Over three days, you’ll take your first guided steps on real rock, learning essential techniques, safety principles, and how to move efficiently on gritstone. The course helps you develop trust in the rock, awareness of your own abilities and current limits, and a clear understanding of how to improve them. Most technical equipment is provided. Participants need to bring their own personal climbing harness and climbing shoes. Accommodation and travel are not included.
